Is the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 worth buying at $400 off on Amazon?

Microsoft’s Surface Laptop Studio 2 offers incredible versatility and power, but its initial high price tag left many hesitant. However, there’s good news for prospective buyers as the system is now available at a discounted price on Amazon. The price has been slashed by $400, bringing it down to $2,399, marking a new all-time low for this configuration, which includes 32GB of RAM, a 13th-gen Intel i7 processor, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU.

With these specifications, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 is more than capable of handling everyday tasks and even gaming, thanks to its ample 1TB of storage. Microsoft claims that the laptop can last up to 18 hours on a single charge, making it ideal for long work sessions or entertainment on the go. The 14.4-inch touchscreen boasts true-to-life colors and a 120Hz refresh rate, complemented by Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support for immersive multimedia experiences. In terms of connectivity, you’ll find two Thunderbolt 4-enabled USB-C 4.0 ports, a USB-A port, a microSD card reader, and Surface Connect for docking and charging.

In our review, we gave the Surface Laptop Studio 2 a solid score of 85, praising its performance, design, and versatility. Its unique design allows you to pivot the screen 180 degrees or tilt it down into an easel, offering the flexibility of a 2-in-1 device combined with the power of a mid-range laptop. However, it’s worth noting that the laptop is bulkier than some other 14-inch ultraportables, and the Surface Slim Pen 2 must be purchased separately for those interested in stylus input. Nevertheless, for most users, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 should easily meet their day-to-day computing needs.
